This abstract painting betrays Lewandowski's fascination with industry. In fact, he was likely inspired by the scaffolding in ship yards. Rather than capturing them in his signature Precisionist style, with near-photographic realism, he decided to abstract the system of beams and bolts into this fascinating work.
