A large ten-pointed star stucco tile moulded in relief, filled with a large quadruped, set against a background of proportionately small foliate scrolls bearing split-palmettes and a raised beaded border frames the tile. The decoration in relief shows the figure of a large griffin marchant facing right with rounded muscular leonine body enlivened by a curled ornament decorating the flank and raised foreleg, extending into a proportionately slender elongated curved neck and crested bird's head with a prominent down-curved beak tapering to a point. Springing from the top of the back are upswept wings with graduated cusped tips. The elongated thin tail curves around the rear and outer leg.
