The buildings and sets of Studio Misr.

In 1925, the Misr Company for Acting and Cinema (MCAC) was established by Talaat Harb, the founder of Banque Misr, to produce documentaries promoting Egypt’s burgeoning industry. By 1935, Harb had realized that feature films were the future and established Studio Misr to provide facilities for local filmmakers to shoot and edit feature films in Egypt. With Studio Misr’s large sets and varied services, directors no longer had to rush through their scenes under pressure from producers. They could now build larger sets and take their time to reshoot and perfect their films.
