(See what is indicated for the Boy on the Beach sculpture).

This and the next two are preliminary, naturalistic and very detailed studies of as many anatomical and compositional fragments for the sculpture Boy on the Beach, 1934, included in this catalogue, studies that were followed by two full-length ones, the first of which - from the back and intermediate left profile - shows the arms of the figure in the opposite position to the final one, while the last one (from the front and larger than life size) can be considered a final sketch for the sculptural work, although Gargallo would add to the same is the cloth that the boy's right hand holds.

Among all of Gargallo's work, this is surely the most notable and direct case of drawings or studies prior to the creation of the sculpture.
