The Muppets, an ensemble cast of puppet characters, have starred in Sam and Friends, Sesame Street, and The Muppet Show, as well as numerous feature films. For more than 60 years, Jim Henson's Muppets have served as a staple of American popular culture. Fisher-Price released a line of The Muppet Show plush and invited kids to join The Muppet Show fan club in the late 1970s. Club members received a free autographed picture and decal of Kermit and Fozzie.
