The first collection of stories about Winnie the Pooh and his friends was introduced in 1926 in a book by A.A. Milne. In 1961, Walt Disney licensed the rights to the characters and has since made several film features and theatrical shorts. In 1947 the Gund Manufacturing Company began a long-lasting partnership with Walt Disney Productions, creating plush figures of popular characters like Mickey Mouse and Minnie, Donald Duck, Daisy, and Donald's three nephews, Snow White, Dumbo, Lady and the Tramp, Mary Poppins, Winnie the Pooh, and others. These days, Gund offers soft toys of more recent Disney movies like "The Aristocats," "Monsters, Inc.," and "Cars."
