Pluto, Mickey Mouse's loyal canine companion, first appeared 1930 and made appearances in several Mickey Mouse cartoons before receiving his own series in 1937. Unlike most animal characters in the Disney universe, Pluto is not anthropomorphic and does not posess human-like qualities beyond a few facial expressions. In 1947 the Gund Manufacturing Company began a long-lasting partnership with Walt Disney Productions, creating plush figures of popular characters like Mickey Mouse and Minnie, Donald Duck, Daisy, and Donald's three nephews, Snow White, Dumbo, Lady and the Tramp, Mary Poppins, Winnie the Pooh, and others. These days, Gund offers soft toys of more recent Disney movies like "The Aristocats," "Monsters, Inc.," and "Cars."
