Alfred Odero and his wife from Kamasengre, Rusinga Island. He is a fisherman and a subsistence farmer. They are clad in their traditional mourning costume. They adopted traditions from the luo although they were originally from Buganda and in Kiganda tales are referred to as Bakuntas – the rebel group that assassinated Ssemakokiva Jjunju one of the kings of Buganda. Like luos, the have the middle teeth of the lower teeth missing.
