The jacket is straight, with a square turndown collar. Kimono sleeves and vertical pockets with flaps that open at the line of the pleat. Fastens at the front with blue paste buttons. Lined with rayon taffeta. The skirt is adjusted with a narrow waistband, extends in an évasée shape and has a pleat at the front and at the back that form a large panel. Fastens on the left side with a zip and a hook. Lined with blue silk crepe.

Made in Paris with fabric by Nattier, this suit shows the classic simplicity that defined Balenciaga’s tailored suits over the years. The structural proportion is highlighted by the straight lines created by the grid of the fabric. This command of technique, creating decoration by the cuts, is an essential trademark of all of the master’s work.
