Seated portrait of a man inferred from the accompanying caption as Prince Sulaiman Qadr of Awadh or Oudh, also transliterated as Suleiman Kadr. The prince is one of the sons of Amjad Ali Shah, the 4th King of Awadh, making him a brother of Wajid Ali Shah, the last King of Awadh. He is dressed in an ornate garment and wears a headpiece topped with a plume, resting an arm on a table covered with a tablecloth with a foliage motif. Two attendants can be seen behind him, one of whom is holding a fly-whisk.
