A collection of outdoor furniture for summer 1959. In the top left is a Piranesi table and chair, of metal painted and shaped to resemble coral. On the table is an Italian alabaster watermelon. Against the back wall, is a white Tempestini chair, of wrought iron, which sits in front of a hemp tapestry featuring a Falconetto design of flowers. Near these, is a small ivy tole tree in a tole pot. At right, is a wire chaise, with a yellow removable cushion, from Kagan-Dreyfuss. Next to this is a Japanese butterfly stool, of plywood with a natural varnish finish. It holds Italian Grade A alabaster eggs. Underneath the end of the chaise is the book "The Last Works of Matisse," laying open on the floor. Near the book is a wooden planter from Japan, lined in copper metal, at Georg Jensen. Lastly, a hurricane lamp of Murano glass, from Venini Glass, sits on the floor in the foreground.
