Surinda, also known as Sarinda, is a bowed string instrument from Rajasthan. Hollowed out of a single block of wood, one third of the resonator is covered with parchment fixed with wooden mails and has three main playing steel strings. It is used by Sikh Gurus and their bards. Small bells are attached to the bow to produce rhythmic jingle.
