Platemark 23.2x28 cm on sheet 27x34cm. Scientific lecturing to mixed audience inside the Surrey Institution, opened 1809; some apparatus on lecturer's table. Pugin drew the architectural features and Rowlandson drew the people. Hand coloured aquatint showing Friedrich Accum giving a chemistry lecture at the Surrey Institution. The London Microcosm was published by William Henry Pyne and written by William Combe.
