In September 2020, we invited a selection of artists and facilitators to explore themes of sustainability in their own outdoor arts practice. The residential element provided a radical and non-judgemental space to reimagine how we might address issues relating to sustainability within the sector holistically, alongside the opportunity to develop actual projects from a sustainable perspective with access to physical infrastructure and workshop facilities as desired to road-test innovative new approaches.
Supported by the expert facilitators and tailored specifically to the chosen artists’ parameters, needs and concerns, we guided the participants through a series of workshops examining and re-evaluating their current processes and systems for making sustainable choices.
