British Isles Jersey, worn by E.R. John

This red jersey with a white collar and three white buttons down the front was worn by E.R. John during the historic 1950 British Isles tour to Australia. The left breast features the British Isles emblem, embroidered with the crests of the four home nations. A white cotton number 24 is sewn on the back. The 1950 tour marked the first time the British Isles team wore red jerseys and the official adoption of the name the British Lions. Made from 100% cotton, this jersey remains in excellent condition and carries the unique history of being swapped between John and his opposite number, Australian player Sir Nicholas Shehadie.
