This post card, mailed October 31, 1906 from New Orleans, Louisiana to Brooklyn, New York depicts Swan Island in Grant Park and states: "Grant Park was the the gift of the late L.P. Grant, and originally contained 120 acres, to which the city has added largely. Swan Island is a miniature island rising from a picturesque lake, on which swans gracefully glide; it is a pleasant rendezvous for picnics, being accessible to swimming and several mineral springs." Constitution Spring fed Lake Abana until 1906 when the City's reservoir supplemented the underground mineral spring.
