This elaborate purse depicts four scenes: figures in costume drinking; an elderly shepherd tending his flock; two men playing shuttlecocks; and a gentleman having his shoes cleaned. The gentleman is dressed fashionably in a tight fitting justaucorps, breeches, long wig and plumed hat. His red heels indicate that he was presented at court.
