This was one of the first wallpapers Arthur Heygate Mackmurdo designed for the Century Guild in the early 1880s. This sample has the manufacturer Jeffrey & Co's trademark, a triangle surrounded by a coiled snake on a sunburst, and 'No. 89817' the stock number with the price, 9d per yard printed on the reverse.
