Synchronous ringing of the bells

On 30 June 2012 at 8:15 pm, the official end of mining in the Saarland, the church bells in many communities of the Saarland rang on this occasion. After an appeal broadcast on radio and televisions to make recordings of these churches, more than 40 submissions were received. These documented the importance of the end of mining operations for the entire state and its citizens.
