The South Seas Group at the Colonial Parade on 01 August 1926

Taken during the “Hamburg Colonial Week”, held from 31 July to 4 August 1926, this picture shows the South Seas section of the event’s parade where the merchant houses that particularly operated in the German colonies of the Pacific region presented themselves. The company emblems of the Deutsche Handels- und Plantagen-Gesellschaft (D.H.P.G.) and Hernsheim & Co., among others, can be recognised in the photo. In the background, the Museum of Ethnology is visible.
