Electric cars produce no emissions at point of use, so they don’t contribute to air pollution on the streets. They have fewer moving parts, making them more reliable and lower on maintenance and they are silent, so noise pollution is not a factor either. Lightweight electric cars can be more efficient than internal combustion cars, as they use much less energy, and they are energy-flexible, since the source of electricity that powers them can come from anything—you can choose a renewable source, a cheap source, a domestic source, anything you want—and you can change your mind whenever you want.

The T.27 city car is a pure electric vehicle designed to fully optimize packaging, weight and performance. The newly developed iStream® assembly process is a complete rethink and redesign of the traditional manufacturing process. The simplified assembly process means that the manufacturing plant can be designed to be 20% of the size of a conventional factory. This could reduce capital investment in the assembly plant by approximately 80% and the flexibility of this assembly process means that the same factory could be used to manufacture different variants.

The iStream® design process is a complete re-think on high volume materials, as well as the manufacturing process and will lead to a significant reduction in CO2 emissions over the lifecycle of the vehicles produced using it, compared with conventional ones.
