T-38 "Talon"

Tom Stafford was the Project Test Pilot for the Northrop T-38, the world’s first supersonic training aircraft. So successful has been the design of the “Talon” that even after nearly a half century of flying, in continues to be America’s primary advanced jet fighter training aircraft, and has been further cleared to fly until 2030. The T-38 has also been NASA’s primary supersonic training aircraft for astronauts since the early 1960’s. (Actual Artifact)
