Details: After the 1st edition held in 2011 and the following and numerous actions produced all over the country and also abroad, the WOOL – Covilhã Urban Art Festival, in this much-desired return to its origins, presented itself in a format of artistic residency, integrating a larger and more diverse range of activities, like murals, an exhibition, participatory action of Urban Art, lectures, talks, guided tours and film screenings. Between the 12th and 26th of October at WOOL ON RESIDENCE, we featured five of the most recognized Portuguese urban artists.
Meanwhile BORDALO II was working in his huge piece of the owl in the center of the city, he manage to produced some more pieces in other parts of the city. One of them, is T.E.R.R.O.R.I.S.T., from his series of tracks, a call for attention around the public transports and the deactivation of them in such needed areas.
Biography: Born in Lisbon in 1987, Artur Bordalo aka Bordalo II grew up watching his grandfather, Real Bordalo, painting the city of Lisbon. Bordalo II presents us a figurative painting full of vivacity and movement, where he paints his own interpretation of urban landscapes and city entertainment. He’s exploring his own mixed media on wood stand base, and are thus made a series of collages of objects (garbage). It is not only a way to recycle, but also a critique of the world we live in, where we often have nice things, which are based on junk without realizing it.
