‘Tableau Vivant’ originally means ‘living picture’. <tableau vivant>(2017) is a media artwork using photos and video. The artist accepts photos’ frame as concept of proscenium. Through this, in the photo media, people become another scenography ignited by body. Body, behavior, and movement appear as waiting, walking, siting, and thinking, creating hypothetical time in stalled time. The work is reconstructed centering on <euphoria>, <consolation>, and <severance>, and some parts of video covering May 18 Democratic Movement are added.
Kim Jae Min is a media artist and director, and CEO of group M and a theater Spider. Main works include <novecento>(2012), <rur>(2013), <heterotopia>(2014), and recently he displayed <tableau vivant> work which combines photos and media art.
