In the first place, tabula rasa is a term for an antique board, covered with wax to engrave a word, a message, or a record, which could be erased by heating the wax. In a philosophical context tabula rasa describes the state of the soul before engraved with the experiences of life.
Both in the choreography and in the music, this metaphor is being reversed: the tabula rasa are covered with messages, and we see the wax slowly slipping back and erasing the lines.
