Fondazione Museo Miniscalchi-Erizzo
Verona, Italy

The plate is illustrated by an all-round scene. The central part is occupied by the episode of the kidnapping of the beautiful and young Theophanes by Poseidon, who for the occasion assumed the appearance of a goat: from their union would be born the ram from the Golden Fleece. The figure of the old shepherd, bearded and bearded, asleep on the left is identical to that appearing on a fragment of plate of the Victoria and Albert Museum.
