Tairiiri. Fan. Tairiiri woven from two tones of natural coloured rauara (pandanus leaf) strips. Plaited commencement at centre of blade. The blade has a geometric shape (two triangles). Woven out in check from the centre to form lower edge and sides of blade. Two tones of natural coloured rauara strips are interwoven creating geometric patterns across the blade. Faces of the blade are not identical due to slight variations of patterns. Blade is attached to a mauranga (handle) rakau (wooden) woven over with rauara.
