Leonardo wrote brilliant works thanks to his genius, but also because of his “golden dust”, a pyrite dust that in the past was used to fix the ink on the documents. Secondary effect: the text shined. Nowadays, pyrite, a common iron disulfide, is used to produce sulfuric acid, former vitriol, used in tanneries in the past.
