In Swat Valley of Pakistan, Gandhara, Kushan, Hindu and Muslim cultures existed together through history. Cultural heritage belonging these various cultures was targeted and damaged by terrorist attacks including the Jahanabad Buddha Rock Carving, one of the most revered sites for Buddhist pilgrims. ‘They Didn’t Just Come For The Lands’ episode tells the story of great efforts given by community members and professionals to ensure continuity of their multilayered cultural heritage ranging from evacuation of artefacts from museums during the attacks to taking responsibility in the recovery process.
