Tamak (single-headed kettle drum)

A cup-shaped drum made with an iron shell and buffalo skin. Tamaks, worn around the neck using a leather strap, are played with two sticks, approximately 21 cm long. Tamaks accompany banams to create the melodious music now synonymous with Santal culture.
