Lokcan batiks from the north coast of Java were highly esteemed in West Sumatra. The textile piece is a great example of a lokcan batik in the center like to be done in Central Java and embellished with an intricate embroidery technice called 'sulam pahat' and 'suji papan'.

The 'tampan penundung' is used to cover betel leaves during a ceremony and to cover gifts from grooms' family to the brides' family.
