From 1889 to 1897 the Royal Prussian State Railways (K.P.St.E.) purchased 88 locomotives of the later T 2 and T 4.2 "Eberfeld variant" classes for hauling light passenger trains. The machines were able to accelerate a 320-ton train to 60 km/h on a level track. Despite a top speed of 75 km/h, they were soon relegated to the branch line service, where they remained until the 1920s. The locomotive "Breslau 1458" was built in 1897 near Schichau in Elbing. In 1905 the main Breslau workshop built a partial model of it for the Berlin Transport and Building Museum. The Michael John workshop completed the underframe in 1985.
