Design is based on Guido Reni's "Aurora," Palazzo Rospigliosi, Rome. The clouds rise from the sea and carry Apollo in his chariot. He is accompanied by the Hours; the group is preceded by Aurora and two genii holding a jar and flowers. In the lower right, Neptune stands onshore; he holds the reigns of his horse and his trident.
