Tea bowl "Kan'un", Hagi ware

This is a typical Ido utsushi tea bowl. The biwa glaze appears russet colored through what is called Hagi no nana bake (“the seven transformations of Hagi”, where the pottery underneath the glaze is treated such as through water saturation to allow changes in the shades of the glaze).
