This tea caddy is attributed to Nonomura Ninsei, a potter of Kyoto-style ceramics in the 17th century. The inscription “Ninsei” is featured on the bottom.
The crosshatch pattern is engraved around the unglazed body and has itokiri (string-cut mark) on the bottom. Only the inner surface is coated with glaze.
