Teacher Buddha statue

This is a glass plate negative of a Tibetan bronze seated figure with cloth draping over the base top. The buddha performs a Vitarka Mudra gesture, with the thumb and index finger joining together to form a circle while the other three fingers remain extended. The hand held at chest level, the palm facing outward, signifying openness and the act of communication. The Vitarka Mudra is associated with the Buddha's teachings and is used when explaining his wisdom to his disciples.
