Seven days after Prince Siddhartha was born, his mother Queen Maya passed away and was reborn in Trayastrimsa Heaven. The prince was raised by his aunt, Mahaprajapati. Later he renounced, attained enlightenment, and became known as the Buddha. When the Buddha was about to enter parinirvana, he felt that he had not yet repaid his mother's kindness for giving birth to him. Therefore, he decided to ascend Trayastrimsa Heaven to teach his mother the Dharma in order to fulfill his responsibility as a son. This shows that Buddhism places great importance on filial piety; Buddhism neither opposes nor rejects traditional social values when they are fair and reasonable.
