This teapot is from a coffee, tea, and chocolate service made for Clemens August of Bavaria, Elector and Archbishop of Cologne (1700-1761) on the occasion of his 35th birthday. Notice that one of the teapot's figures is painting the elector's monogram, CA, on a large shield.
