Artefact recovered from the wreck of the Loch Ard. This iron clipper was wrecked on Mutton Bird Island in 1878 while travelling from Gravesend, England to Melbourne. It had a large and varied cargo which included metalware. This is a silver-plated britannia metal teapot retrieved from the wreck. Its handle is missing, but it features an ornate base and a hinged lid. A hallmark is embossed on the base and reads "52 Sheffield 1603 6".
