Teapot with warmer

Dresser, born in 1834, is seen as a pioneer of modern industrial design. Between 1865 and 1885 he designed various everyday objects for silverware factories in London and Birmingham. All objects were industrially manufactured and for the most part silver-plated. Dresser's designs and his teaching at the London School of Design played a key role in the reform of the British decorative arts after the World Fair in 1851. Like Edward William Godwin, Dresser was inspired by Japanese art. Typical of Dresser's style are the straight, slightly flared feet and the angular handles, which often form a right angle.
