One of WTEN’s top performers from 1955-1957 was Ted Knight, who later starred on “Mary Tyler Moore.” Knight was a versatile performer who hosted everything from the morning movie to the afternoon children’s show. He introduced westerns as “Windy” Knight and cartoons and “Little Rascals” shorts in “Ted Knight and his Clubhouse Gang.” He appeared as Officer Ted and served as puppeteer and ventriloquist. He also worked as a disc jockey on WROW radio.
