The front of this tefillin bag shows the Western Wall of the Temple Mount together with the Temple and Midrash Shlomo (The School of Solomon).

The major motif on the reverse is a wreath of flowers above which is the following inscription: Jerusalem, the h[oly] c[ity], may it [be rebuilt speedily]." Within the wreath is the name of the owner, Moses/ s[on of] Samuel/HaLevi.

These bags were usually made by brides for their fiancés. Many were modeled after contemporary 19th century prints.
