Two-ball bolas, "chumé", to hunt rheas. Depending on the anatomy of the prey, they threw the bolas at different areas of its body to immobilize it. To hunt the rhea, they threw it to the neck. To hunt guanacos, they threw it to the front legs. Initially the balls were made of stone. In the 19th century, they began to be replaced by metal balls, which they obtained by trading with the settlers.
