During the three summer monthes of 1906 the landline from Seydisfjordur to Reykjavik was constructed. It was 614 km long and consisted of 14.000 poles, 28.000 ceramic insulators and 1.250 km of wire, which was mostly transported by the bodily labour of men and horses.
