Temples in Orissa

This is a giant work that depicts the three temples of Lingaraj Temple, Rajarani Temple and Mukteshwar Temple in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, together. Finding a balance among the three was difficult, and the piece is an dream-like work that seems to have a white haze covering the ground. Akino's trancendent painted world is truly expressed across the entire scene. Akino liked Odisha “because it has a familiarity much like that of arriving at a relative's house,” and she painted many of the temples dotted throughout the state.
