Temporary observatory at Rivabellosa, 1860. The lens of the telescope is just visible above its shelter. Warren de la Rue (1815–89), a pioneer in astronomical photography, appears twice as this view was montaged from two separate photographs. The camp was established to observe an eclipse. Black and white copy photograph, taken in 1927, from the Science Museum Photographic Archive.
