The title “Ten Incarnation” indicates that the Lord Vishnu, the god of the Hindu triad, appeared in various avatars in order to help all beings and creatures. His ten avatars consist of animals such as Matsya the fish, Kurma the turtle, Varaha the wild boar, Nrisimha the half-lion half human, Vamana the dwarf, Parashurama: Rama of the battle axe Rama, Krishna, Buddha, and Kalki. In Nepal where the artist was born and raised, Buddhism was in full flourish once, yet Hindus now comprises about 90 percent of the whole population.
