Tenement building at 15 Markowska Street in Warsaw's Praga district

During the war, Maria and Anna Kukulska, mother and daughter, ran there an emergency shelter. Sendler and her coworkers brought Jewish children and adults there. The children were provided with good care, taught Polish language and Catholic prayers.
