Emily says: "Chatting to Teresa about her work and the changes to General Practice through the pandemic has been a continuous source of amazement at the resilience and fortitude of NHS workers. It seems to me that she and her daughters embody the best of what has come from this period- a feeling of incredibly unity and community that can come from this kind of shared experience.
I had been looking at the Van Gogh painting ‘At Eternity’s Gate’ and the format of the photo that Teresa sent coupled with her expression struck me as a mirror or antithesis of the sentiments of that painting. This may be our new normal but it will be met with hopeful kindness, not despair.
As Teresa herself said, ‘We were all anxious about how we would manage because there are so many unknowns, but we are adapting.’ I hope that, moving forward, this country will continue to recognise the excellence of their carers and key workers."
Teresa says: "Love the way you’ve captured the red sore knuckles from continual hand washing!"
