Map dated 1519, known as Terra Brasilis, created by Portuguese cartographers Lopo Homem, Pedro and Jorge Reinel. Part of the Miller Atlas, it depicts the Brazilian coast with rich geographic detail, native peoples, tropical fauna, and brazilwood extraction — the first major export of the new lands. It is the first known map to illustrate Portuguese trade in the Americas and highlights the economic and symbolic value of the tree that gave Brazil its name.
